I decided to experiment with the oversized silhouette in a shirt for its bold yet wearable aesthetic, embodying my design ethos of elegance and versatility. To bring my vision to life, I began with the cut-and-slash method to experiment with the form, followed by drafting patterns. I created a muslin prototype to test the fit and identify any design flaws. This project provided valuable insights into various aspects of garment construction. I learned how to effectively match different fabrics, edit yokes, and adjust patterns through cut and slash methods. Overall, this project was a transformative experience that not only strengthened my technical skills but also reinforced my ability to translate a vision into a tangible, cohesive design.
